Our Mission

To engage neighbors in the creation, maintenance, and harvest of edible landscapes that are accessible to everyone.

Our Vision:

  • Fresh, local food accessible to all.

  • Ingrained culture of foraging, gleaning and sharing surplus.

  • No food going to waste.

  • Expanded use of public spaces for community agriculture.

  • Engaged community to maintain community gardens and orchards.

  • Lawns being replaced with edible landscapes.

  • Food sovereignty & resilience throughout our communities.

A grassroots organization founded in Vancouver, WA in 2010, Urban Abundance has had its fair share of ebbs and flows over the years in the community. Since incorporating as our own 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2021, we’ve slightly adjusted our program offerings, operating solely with a volunteer Board of Directors and (usually) one paid seasonal program coordinator.

We continue to hold as many volunteer harvesting & urban gardening opportunities as we have capacity for, but we always welcome new Board members and/or volunteers who resonate with our mission and want to help!

Please reach out if you would like to volunteer or partner with us, or consider donating if you’d like to support our cause. 100% of donations go towards expanding efforts & programs that are in line with our mission & vision.
